Mehboob takes pride in teaching sitar and indian classical vocals, teaching beginners to advanced students. He has a wealth experience teaching indian classical music on western instruments and leading fusion projects.

- Since 1997 Mehboob has worked with SAA-uk, teaching sitar to students within workshops and summer schools; for the past two years he has headed the summer schools in the role of artistic director.

- From 2001, Mehboob has carried out a variety of activities with including teaching, workshops and performances.
- IMCDOll (Edinburgh)
- Working since 2006, Mehboob has carried out workshops in sitar and hindustani vocals.
- Distil (Edinburgh)
- In 2005 Mehboob taught Scottish musicians indian music for three days in New Lanark, Edinburgh.
- Drum Camp (Norfolk)
- Mehboob was a part of Drum Camp in 2002, part of the creating partnerships programme for Norwich arts council.
